Summer 2010

We have just completed 8 performances throughout the last year throughout the UK with our pice 'Nonense' featuring children's poet Michael Rosen.

Plans are now taking shape for a second piece based on Michael's poetry, as well as a tour of a chamber-sized version of the ensemble performing new versions of material from both Tides. Inside Covers and the new album Leap of Faith.

Album news

Following the success of the Nonsense project (with sell out performances recently at the Queen Elisabeth Hall, The Stables, and Cheltenham Jazz Festival) the band is looking to bring out an album of the work on Basho Records. A new album of material from the last couple of years based around improvised fragments  is also taking shape and it is hoped will be released later in 2009.

Nonsense on tour

Finally, after two and a half years of development the Homemade Orchestra unveil their latest project 'Nonsense'. It is a collaboration with poet Michael Rosen and started a UK tour in October. Using Michael's two books of nonsense poetry as a springboard, composers Colin Riley, Tim Whitehead and Liam Noble from the band have woven together a 60 minute piece full of surprises. The piece is aimed at children and families.
